IIT Bombay Research Internship 2026–27 – ₹15,000 Monthly Stipend
Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has opened applications for its Research Internship Awards 2026–27, offering eligible students an opportunity to work full-time on challenging research projects under IIT Bombay faculty.
🎓 Academic Eligibility
Eligible applicants should be:- Second-year Master’s students, or
- Third-year Bachelor’s students, or
- Fourth-year Bachelor’s students.
The applicable branch or discipline depends on the project requirements specified by the IIT Bombay faculty member.
🏆 Academic Performance
Applicants must be among the top 20% in the previous academic year in their discipline at their College / University / Institute.
A certificate from the Principal in the prescribed format is required.
⏳ Full-Time Requirement
- Applicant must remain a full-time student.
- The internship itself is full-time.
- Part-time internship is not permitted.
- No coursework should interfere with the internship period.
🔬 Research Projects
The awards are available for specific research projects proposed by IIT Bombay faculty.
Candidates can review available projects and apply according to their academic background and research interests.
💰 IIT Bombay Internship Stipend
Selected interns will receive a fixed stipend of ₹15,000 per month during the four-to-six-month internship period.
Shared campus accommodation may be available for non-Mumbai candidates, subject to availability and applicable conditions.
