ICMR-BMHRC Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, is recruiting for one Principal (Nursing College) position at Bhopal Memorial Hospital & Research Centre (BMHRC), Bhopal.

The position is classified as General Central Service, Group A, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial and is to be filled through Composite Method – Deputation/Promotion.

Eligibility Criteria

For Deputation

Applicants should be officers of the Central Government, State Government or Union Territories who:

• Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department;
• OR have five years of regular service in Level 11 of the Pay Matrix (₹67,700–₹2,08,700) or equivalent.

Educational Qualification & Experience

• Master of Science (Nursing) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Out of the total experience, 7 years should be teaching experience from a recognized institution.
• Candidate must be registered as a Nurse with the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council.

Desirable Qualification

Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. in Nursing.

Age Limit

For appointment by deputation, including Short Term Contract, the maximum age limit should not exceed 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications.

Eligibility for Promotion

A departmental candidate holding the post of Vice-Principal (Nursing College) with five years of regular service in Level 11 of the Pay Matrix and possessing the prescribed essential qualifications and experience may also be considered.
